Sample Trip

Sample trip at rack rates (according to 2006 prices):

Travel Thursday, Dec. 6, check in at hotel that night. People who have to travel farther may want to have a hotel stay halfway down Wednesday night.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the parks. Monday break day. Tuesday and Wednesday in the parks. Go home Thursday morning, Dec. 13.

This plan has us getting 7 nights’ hotel stay and 5 days’ park tickets. Although you will see that an extra day park ticket is so cheap you may want to add it just to be able to eat in the parks and maybe see fireworks the night of the “rest” day.

I am also giving prices for the Dining Plan. You can’t beat it for quality and ease. You may come out cheaper but you’ll be stressed out and won’t eat as well.

Hotel: 7 nights x $79 (cheap hotel)= $553
7 nights x $139 (nicer hotel)= $973

Dining Plan: 7 days (tied to hotel stay) x $38= $266 per adult or $532 per couple
7 days x $11= $77 per child over 3 yrs, so figure accordingly

Park Tickets: 5 days= $255 per adult or $510 per couple
5 days= $216 per child over 3, again figure it up
6 days= $259 per adult or $518 per couple (I kid you not)
6 days= $218 per child over 3, figure it in
So I say spend an hour or two in the parks one day for an extra $8 or $10.

Grand totals with no special deals and assuming prices don’t skyrocket over the next year:

Cheaper hotel with no children: $1603
With 1 kid over 3 (Sips): $1898
With 2 kids over 3 (Mulls): $2193

Nicer hotel with no children: $2023
With 1 kid over 3: $2318
With 2 kids over 3: $2613

Looking at these numbers and assuming that we don't get some really cool deal, Josh and I feel like we'd rather stay at the less expensive hotel. But we'll see how things go.

Somehow this looks more expensive than last year... how did that work? I remember giving you like 1200 bucks and that covered everything... and was this "quote" at a cheaper time of year?

Last year, we were emailed a very special deal from Disney.

The deal was ONLY good for August, too. If we get another deal like that, we're in luck. If not, we'll have to pay.

But, there are special deals and this is just a basic overview.

Luke's gonna cost this time, too.

Also, Isaac and Caleb will cost for the Mullins clan, so their plan will cost a bit more.

But, there are still special deals to be had!

We basically got our Dining Plan free because of the special deal. I've been looking into some alternative savings and AAA is looking like a good option. It costs under $50 to join and you get 20% off your resort. There are ticket discounts too but they don't list how much. Only problem is I'm not sure you can do the Dining Plan through them.

Hey, Luke just saw Jamison's pic and said "Jamie" or something to that effect.
